Projects: Mixed Use
Laurel Theatre Apartments,
The site of the former Laurel Theater, fronting on the main shopping street in San Carlos, 42 dwelling units arc grouped around a central garden space and placed above ground level retail and parking. The height ranges from three to two stories in response to the surrounding context. Varied roof forms, materials and color serve to break up the scale of the building. A trellis was used to bridge over a public alley in order to tie the two separate parcels together visually.
Project completed in 2000.
