Moss Beach is a small coastal community located on the Pacific Coast just south of San Francisco. The site, gently sloping with a pond and cypress grove, has views of the ocean and the surrounding hills; a mixture of grassland and forest. The house is sited to take advantage of the views and to preserve the natural features of the site. The home is designed for both formal and informal entertaining. The formal area is detailed with cherry Tuscan columns, trim and built-ins. The ceilings are coved and the dining area has a servery that connects it to the kitchen. The informal areas have open wood trussed ceilings that express the Gambrel shape of the roof. The landscaping is designed as an extension of the house and includes an outdoor dining area, spa, pool and pool house.
