The majority of the firm’s work consists of multiple-family and mixed-use projects, however our diverse practice includes the planning and design of a number of commercial, retail and office developments and single-family residences. Christiani Johnson Architects has particular expertise with urban infill sites, breathing new life into abandoned or under-utilized properties in San Francisco and surrounding communities.
An expert in the design of high-density mixed-use developments, Mr. Christiani brings a lifelong involvement with architecture and the building industry to his projects. Mr. Christiani has an invaluable breadth of knowledge that uniquely unites the complex pragmatics of building design and construction with aesthetic ideals. He has built his practice on a solid foundation of construction expertise, elegant design sensibilities and positive client relationships which have resulted in award-winning projects.
Richard Christiani is also a recognized photographer, and frequent Himalayan trekker.
A passion for multi-family housing, both affordable and market rate, has defined Ms. Fahmi’s career. Her extraordinary sense of organization means that ideas and issues that surface early in a project get carried through to the built project, with budgets and deadlines observed. A strong believer in collaboration, Ms. Fahmi excels at integrating the needs of diverse parties and creating friendly and beneficial relationships with all parties to a project, from city officials and neighbors to developers, engineers, and contractors.
Taylor Fahmi can often be found flying her small airplane in search of great hiking and the perfect serving of chips and salsa.
Adaptable and generous with his time, Tim brings a high level of professionalism and competence to his projects.
Tim’s years as a Merchant Marine deck officer have trained him to manage his projects efficiently and confidently. Equipped with an exceptional understanding of the built environment, Tim accepts complications that arise, focusing on finding design solutions quickly and proficiently. Adding a kind and easy demeanor to a strong work ethic, Tim is an asset to any project.
While an even keel at CJA, Tim can be found wildly rooting for his son’s cross country team on most Saturday mornings.
Mr. Haley is an innovative and client-focused architectural project manager with over 20 years proven success at providing efficient, quality design for both commercial and multifamily residential project types. He is a strong proponent of leveraging technology to bring about the most creative and expedient solutions to design and construction challenges. Creating projects to meet the clients’ needs by synthesizing program context, technology, and budget, Mr. Haley is recognized for his top performance by repeat client selection and architectural awards of merit.
Out of the office, Mr. Haley sees the world through his Nikon and enjoys hiking and cycling.
Ms. Wrubel is responsible for overseeing the operations and fiscal health of CJA. As business manager, she has streamlined CJA’s financial system to improve the company’s efficiency and transparency standards. As marketing director, she has managed and implemented CJA’s promotion strategy, designed CJA’s website, and marketing profile. Ms. Wrubel excels at seeking innovative, cost-effective business solutions that benefit the majority.
As the affable motivator, Hayley is instrumental in maintaining a fun, supportive, and vibrant office culture, believing that success in business happens because of successful employees.
Hayley works equally hard when she is not at CJA, volunteering for schools, environmental causes, and the local food bank. However, her preferred job is mom and wife to her three favorite people.
